ABSOLUT VODKA TRANSFORM TODAY: YIQING YIN’S STORY

The third artist which Absolut Vodka have decided to work with in their Transform Today Campaign is French haute couture designer Yiqing Yin. Yiqing’s style is unique in that she sculpts directly onto the mannequin and experiments while in the heat of the moment. She has received several industry recognitions and in 2013, the prestigious board of Haute Couture in Paris elected her as new guest member to the calendar, which is a remarkable and humbling achievement for such a young designer.

Yiqing says:

“My creativity must always be confronted to new and unknown territories, and I need a good challenge to get out of bed. That is when transformation can happen. If someone says to me that something is not possible, then I am definitely going to do it. In that sense Haute Couture is the perfect stage for me. It’s not about the fashion scene. It is just a platform for experimentation, and allows for you to do something that has never been done before.”

Whilst Jonas Tåhlin – VP Global Marketing at Absolut – admits:

“We are intrigued by Yiqing Yin’s instinctive and courageous spirit. She is a rising star who has already dared to challenge and transform the traditional world of haute couture.”
