THROWBACK THURSDAY: TRAVELLING WILBURY’S – ‘TWEETER & THE MONKEY MAN’

Jeez but the Travelling Willbury’s takes me back a year or two. This is pure Rock ‘n Roll classic at its ultimate best! The English-American supergroup consisted of music legends Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Roy Orbison, Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne, and recorded two albums together in 1988 and 1990, although The Voice of An Angel Orbison passed away before the second was recorded. Take a second to appreciate the members of this band…mind blowing! Here’s a fun fact: ‘Tweeter and The Monkey Man’ is considered a playful homage to The Boss, who was often hailed as “the next Dylan” early in his career. The lyrics include the titles of many of his songs, and the song borrows many of his themes. You know what to do next, right? Plugin those earphones, turn this one up and enjoy it with me.

You stay classy,
